#Jbl 9.1 soundbar tv
Or placed on the arms of the pair of sofas placed opposite the tv in a 90⁰ v this is for people viewing from both sofas. Rears are either side of my seating position on the top of the sofa back cusions. The plate gives room for the air to flow and makes the bass a lot crisper. I did sit it on a large plate as the feet were sunk into the carpet pile muffling it. Not many of us sit their.īass has never been an issue for me, its places in the corner of the room behind the tv and this bounces it into the room nicely. My old sony system had a plug in mic you placed in your seating position and after calibration you could read the figures and make further fine adjustments to compensate for hearing imbalance of the listener.Īs far as I'm aware the mic for the jlb is on the sound bar. Width of the front sound is not very good and calibration does not sound as if it makes any compensation for the front right being a little further away than the left due to the angle of the tv. Of course the 9.1 shines when it comes to earthquake like rumbles etc
#Jbl 9.1 soundbar drivers
So this massive front firing "sub" also then supports the much smaller left and right speaker drivers and thus delivers a quite satisfying sound (for that price!) I guess this is due to the subwoofer of the system which has a quite high crossover frequency of about 215 Hz. A less than 100€ 2.1 Soundsystem sounds so much more balanced than the expensive 9.1! Just weird. Much better dialog clarity (but somewhat missing Stereo Soundstage). Normal TV Viewing then with the 2.1 System. Just using the soundbar for movies and something I want to really hear in 5.1. Punchy bass is also a must for me, so I also still retained my trusty old Logitech Z-3 2.1 System which has a so much more overall "round" and warm sound than the soundbar. I mean in the end it is a kind of fake Atmos, depending on some sweet spot position where the Upfiring speakers and walls reflect exactly the waves as needed.

Atmos is probably not a good enough reason to go to the 9.1. Click to expand. If you think the 5.1 is overall punchier, I would recommend to stay with that bar.
